S plit is a city of great historical importance, its center coming under the UNESCO protection in 1979. With its enchanting Roman palace that continues to accommodate people even to this day, its rich culture, delicious food, warm and welcoming citizens and host of activities that you can enjoy, it promises to help you create wonderful and unforgettable memories.
Split hides a multitude of treasures: modern shops built into the roman ruins, fascinating history and culture alongside its vibrant night life, lively bars, cafés & restaurants all at close distance to each other. Just wandering through the cobbled streets of this remarkable and historically well preserved city is an adventure on its own.
What to see in Split (and is free of charge)?
1 . Diocletian's Palace
One of the best preserved palaces of the Roman imperial period, whose remains now form the historical centre of the city. People actually live and work inside the ancient edifice, so while it has its tourist aspect, it also feels very real and alive.
2 . Dominus Cathedral and bell tower
Dominus Cathedral and bell tower, which was originally the Emperor's mausoleum.
3 . The Peristyle of Diocletian's Palace
Fantastic place to sit down on the steps, marvel at the architecture and imagine yourself during Diocletian's time. Here you can bump into Roman warriors and even Emperor Diocletian himself.
4 . Riva
Riva – Split's promenade and the place to be. The Riva really comes alive in the early evening when Split's residents and visitors enjoy strolling up and down; enjoy the view of the boats in the harbour, and sipping drinks at many cafes and stands on the sea front.
5 . Salona
An ancient Roman colony. One of the biggest towns of Roman Empire and a capital of Roman province Dalmatia. Well preserved amphitheatre, theatre, basilica, cemetery and many other Roman buildings.
6 . Old town
Simply walk around the lanes and alleyways, little squares and court where the breath of history mingles with contemporary design and the attractive Dalmatian lifestyle.
7 . Bačvice beach & picigin
Sandy beach located in the bay, 5 minutes from the ancient Diocletian's Palace. Very popular game here is picigin: designed for playing in shallow water players maintain small ball in the air as long as they can. Look how the locals do and try it out!
8 . Marjan Hill
The green lung of Split that provides astonishing view of Split, the islands and the harbour... Go to the top - once up there, you get rewarded with a 360 degrees view of the harbour, the red roofed old town.
You can swim on the many beaches, take a nice panoramic walk along paths under the shade of pine trees or do some sport.

62nd SPLIT SUMMER FESTIVAL
he most famous Split Summer Festival includes shows, opera, drama, ballet, concerts and exhibitions. This year's monthly edition, starting on 14th of July and ending on 14th of August, offers a wide range of cultural richness throughout famous locations in Split.
The programme begins tomorrow – 14th July at 20:00 o'clock in the garden of Mestrovic Gallery with opera Turandot by Giacomo Puccini.
As for drama premieres, this year's firstlings are comedy The hole by Živko Jeličić, directed by Zoran Mužić in Severova Street on 19th July, and The Merchant of Venice by Shakespeare directed by Aleksandar Ogarjov in Institute of Oceanography on Marjan hill on 9th August.
Croatian National Theatre's ballet will perform a dancing play Na putu by Igor Kirov with Johan Sebastian Bach's music on Sustipan 4th August.

he organizers of the organic products fair Eco fjera are RERA SD in cooperation with the association of organic producers of Dalmatia - Dalmatia ECO. The fair is entirely financed by the European Union through the project EkoBiz which allows free exposure to a large number of registered producers allows. In two days of the fair, 17 to 18 June 2016 at the Prokurative a large number of exhibitors from whole Croatia is going to promote a wide variety of organically produced delicacies. Support is provided by the ambassadors of organic production in Dalmatia, Rundek Cargo Trio will hold a concert on Saturday evening, June 18.
Cooperation with the Mediterranean Film Festival in Split ensures promotion, which will promote the fair during the festival by presentating documentary film.

Mediterranean film festival
here are 78 movies from 39 countries in the programme of 9th FMFS that will take place in three locations from 3rd to 11th June, in which there will be five regional and five Croatian premieres as the part of feature film programme. These are the numbers that show that Split will be the centre of Mediterranean film world in the first two weekends of June.
